IEEE DAY 2017
IEEE Day’s theme was: “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow”. While the world benefits from what’s new, IEEE focuses on what’s next. That Year in AAST Campus we celebrated IEEE DAY with a wide collection of games competitions and activities.

The workshop consisted of 4 sessions .
It concluded first an introduction to Arduino programming, sensors, Arduino pins, digital and analog. Next, it covered writing code (digital in&out) (analog in&out), then we moved to a more advanced level of coding. Lastly we discussed the H-Bridge and motors control, then made a final project.

-It was a great chance for the attendees to attend and see how the industrial field is evolving and get in touch with industry leaders.

Aircraft building concepts
This event aimed to teach the students the concepts of building their own aircraft and the SAE competition.
It consisted of 2 sessions where we explained the following:
1- The basics of Aerodynamics
2- The Theory of light
3- The Main and Secondary components of an aircraft
4- Types of Aircraft and Forces Designing
We also talked about the “SAE Competition” and what is needed for the students to participate in it.

A Tour inside photovoltaic cells
The event consisted of 2 sessions about Solar Cells:-
- The first session contained an introduction to Solar Cells and the basics.
• In the second session, the attendees had the chance to check the Academy’s solar cells and have a comprehensive explanation of the system.

The state of web development in 2018
The event was about the internet, what it is and how it evolved to its current state. It also included the different choices available when it comes to programming languages and web frameworks, including how to properly choose between them.

The boot camp was about the web development process. It involved all three layers: Presentation layer (front end part that deals with the user interface), Business Logic Layer (back end part that deals with data validation), and the database Layer. It took care of all the steps from the conception of an idea to the actual finished product.

Hardware projects development
The event was about PCBs and it contained:
-How to manage hardware projects.
– Analysis requirements.
– Development steps.
– How to create a good schematic.
– A project was assumed and applied step by step from requirement analysis to what is the programs to use, and where to print the PCB (a complete cycle)
– How to design the PCB concerning the digital, analog, and power electronics parts.
